# MyMood Netherlands public venue snapshot

This directory contains a derivative of OpenStreetMap's public geographic data.
The complete derivative database is available free of charge through
`manifest.json` and every JSON tile listed in that manifest.

**© OpenStreetMap contributors.** The venue database and its derived geographic
data are made available under the **Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0**:

The source is the free Netherlands extract prepared by Geofabrik:
https://download.geofabrik.de/europe/netherlands.html
The exact dated source URL, source SHA-256, source size, OSM replication timestamp,
generation time, and checksums of each output tile are recorded in `manifest.json`.

The snapshot contains named museums, galleries, attractions, cinemas, theatres,
libraries, arts centres, community centres, parks, nature reserves, gardens,
sports centres, swimming pools, bowling alleys, fitness centres, miniature golf
venues, cafés, and restaurants. Records explicitly tagged as inaccessible
(`access=private` or `access=no`) or disused, abandoned, demolished, or permanently
closed are excluded. Unknown access information remains unknown; absence of a tag
does not prove current public access or opening hours.

Nodes retain their published geographic coordinate. Way and multipolygon
relation points are the midpoint of their geometrically obtained bounds; they
are **representative map points, not verified entrances**. Only complete, valid
source node geometry is used. Candidate representative points are checked against
geometrically assembled province boundaries for all twelve European Netherlands
provinces, including polygon holes. This removes foreign border fragments that
can occur in regional extracts. Invalid relation geometries are excluded.

Only venue identity, name, representative coordinate, relevant OSM category,
explicit indoor/outdoor/fee/access tags, and valid HTTPS venue website links are
retained. OSM contributor account metadata, descriptions, addresses, telephone
numbers, and email addresses are not imported. This catalog contains no MyMood
accounts, searches, starting locations, saved favorites, or route calculations.

The source rarely provides verified visitor prices, duration, or group capacity.
Their absence must remain **unknown**. `fee=no` is an explicit source assertion of
no entrance fee; it does not imply free meals, purchases, or other services. Active
strict visitor filters must exclude unknown values rather than inventing estimates.
There is no claim that venues are currently open, still operating, or complete;
visitors should check the provider's website before a trip.

Each tile is `{"elements": [...]}` using OSM node/way/relation identifiers and
minimal tags. Manifest `bounds` use `[west, south, east, north]` in WGS84. Tiles begin
as a 0.5-degree geographic grid and subdivide when necessary to stay below 900 kB.
Tile filenames and actual bounds come from the manifest; callers must not assume
that every tile has the same dimensions.

To refresh, download a new **dated** official Netherlands `.osm.pbf`, verify the
official checksum, record its SHA-256 and byte length in an import provenance JSON,
then run `scripts/refresh-places.py --source ... --provenance ... --output ...` with
Python 3.14 and `osmium==4.3.1`. Import into a new review directory before replacing
an existing snapshot. The script uses no network requests or service keys. Keep
the large source PBF and importer tools in the ignored `.sites-runtime` directory;
publish only reviewed JSON tiles, their manifest, and this license notice.

The ODbL database license applies to this venue database. It does not change the
license of unrelated MyMood application code or private user records.
